What is a Gurukul!

A gurukula or gurukulam (Sanskrit: गुरुकुल, romanized: gurukula) is a type of education system in ancient India with śiṣya ('students' or 'disciples') living near or with the guru in the same house for a period of time where they learn and get educated by their guruji.

Message from the Founder Guru Ji

Acharya Prashaant Ji

Experience the joy of yoga and discover why Yoga Delight is the perfect place for your practice.

In the present age, education has made remarkable progress in science, technology, and professional skill development. Yet, alongside this progress, there has been a gradual decline in attention toward inner discipline, values, self-awareness, and clarity of purpose. This imbalance is visible in rising stress, confusion, and a growing disconnect from cultural and philosophical roots.

My own journey has been shaped by this realization.

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Delhi University in 1999, I found myself increasingly drawn toward deeper questions of life, consciousness, and responsibility toward society and culture. While scientific education sharpened analytical thinking, it was the wisdom of the Vedic tradition that offered answers related to inner balance, ethics, and meaningful living. This inner calling led me to embrace traditional Vedic education as a way of life rather than merely a subject of study. Over the years, I lived and studied at various Gurukuls, Ashrams, and traditional spiritual institutions, where I undertook systematic learning in Sanskrit grammar, Vedic scriptures, Indian philosophy, yoga, and meditation practices. This education was not confined to classrooms; it was integrated into daily discipline, simplicity, and self-observation, which form the true foundation of the Gurukul system.
